2,4,6-Trihydrazino-1,3,5-triazine turns thermal decomposition into a manufacturing tool. This nitrogen-rich solid releases gas at high temperature, and inside a polymer melt those gases can create a cellular foam. The key is timing: too early and gas escapes; too late and the resin cannot expand properly. Most polymer additives are designed to survive heat.
