Trisodium pyrophosphate

CAS 14691-80-6

Trisodium pyrophosphate
A salt form is not just a name: one remaining proton can change pH, compatibility, and formulation behavior.
Trisodium pyrophosphate retains one acidic hydrogen that tetrasodium pyrophosphate does not. The same P-O-P framework remains, but the degree of neutralization changes alkalinity and acid-base behavior. Salt stoichiometry is therefore a formulation tool: chemists can preserve pyrophosphate's metal-binding chemistry while changing pH and compatibility without changing the covalent skeleton.
