Skeletal muscle relaxant

Skeletal muscle relaxants are a vital component of anesthesia and surgical procedures. They work by inducing relaxation of skeletal muscles, facilitating surgical access, and reducing muscle tension during medical interventions. These drugs are categorized into two groups: depolarizing and non-depolarizing agents. Depolarizing agents, such as succinylcholine, briefly depolarize the muscle membrane, causing a transient paralysis. Non-depolarizing agents, like rocuronium and vecuronium, work by blocking the action of acetylcholine, leading to muscle relaxation.
